The first independently organized Startup Grind international conference.
Beginning in 2014, we built and grew a community in Barcelona, with monthly events to connect, educate and inspire founders and innovators featuring top-tier speakers. In 2017, we hosted the first independently organized Startup Grind international conference.
Context
Present in over 600 cities in 125 countries with an audience of 5 million members, Startup Grind is the world's largest community of startups, founders, innovators, and creators. It provides startups worldwide the education and opportunities they need to build, grow, and scale their companies.
Our monthly events in Barcelona consistently attract more than 120 attendees and feature world-class founders and VC’s like Kamran Elahian, Luis Martin Cabiedes or Carolina Brochado.
Our contribution
We co-founded the Startup Grind community in Barcelona, taking care of the project and event management. We developed a fresh, detail-oriented event and built a society through our monthly events inspiring the entrepreneurial community of Barcelona.
We also launched and managed Startup Grind’s first international conference. With the aim to celebrate the newly introduced direct flight between Barcelona and San Francisco, we hosted a 2 day conference with over 30 speakers from both sides of the chasm, more than 700 attendees, a dedicated startup program and two networking parties.
Purpose
Providing founders and startups with inspirational content as well as providing meaningful connecting opportunities through in-person events
Accomplishments
By betting on high-quality content and creating a fresh, detail-oriented event hosting monthly paid events we managed to:
- Build a Loyal Community: Recognized as the best Startup Grind Chapter of the world on 2 occasions, we built one of the most thriving communities in Barcelona with an audience of +5k members.
- Create a Global Event: We managed to launch an international conference without the need of an initial investment with 700 attendees and break-even in the first edition.
- Host a Self-sustainable and scalable event: We established the basis and mastered the event logistics to run community events in a very efficient way and with little resources.
“Working with iyi events for over three years in a monthly event and now a conference for 700 people has been a really good experience. iyi events takes care of all the logistics and most of the heavy lifting - especially the back office work - supplying a team of individuals that will help you to take the worries off your head. The event is in good hands."
